YEAR 7 REPORT:
As Term 3 draws to a close our Year 7 students can reflect on a number of exciting opportunities they have had and many more to look forward to next term.
We held our successful Museum and Town Hall excursion, 7A,B and E were able to attend the QHS Production of ‘All Shook Up’, Transition leaders ran their Mini Expos at our feeder primary schools and students were involved in Winter Sport, Netball Championships and the after-school Basketball Tournament. Basketball will continue into next term and in Week 3 next term is 2 days of Athletics Carnival – a highlight on the school events calendar. Also next term is our annual school Arts Night at the Princess Theatre. Whilst normally not a lot of Year 7’s perform in this it is a wonderful night of Music, Dance, Drama and displays of Visual Art in our amazing theatre where students can take to an authentic stage and present to the paying public. We encourage our Year 7 students and families to come along as it is a great event and students can be inspired to get involved in the future!
Also this week a number of our Year 7’s are attending our ‘Movie and Popcorn Morning Reward’ for making gains in their attendance rates from the end of Term 2 until now. We have also recently surveyed students around their attendance and asked what they think we can do to support improved attendance, overcome barriers and maintain positive attendance overall.
We look forward to working with our Year 7’s towards the final part of the Year before they transition to Year 8!
